MIG Capital Partners (“MIG”) is an investment advisory, consulting, and management firm focused on technology, media, AI, and transformative global platforms.

Founded by Richard Cooperstein, MIG partners with mission-driven founders, executives, and institutions to build enduring companies at the intersection of innovation, capital, and global scale.

Together with its affiliates—including MIG Tech Advisors VIII LLC and Media Investment Group—the firm operates across sectors including artificial intelligence, digital media, film and television, gaming and music IP, consumer internet, humanoid robotics, clean energy and carbon-neutral initiatives, defense and space technologies, mobility, health, fintech, and next-generation infrastructure.

The firm and its principals have served as General Partners, Managing Members, and Special Limited Partners across multiple investment vehicles, collectively participating in over US$5 billion of deployed capital into public and private companies within their core areas of expertise.

Richard Cooperstein
Founder & Senior Managing Partner

Richard Cooperstein is a seasoned executive, investor, and strategic advisor with leadership experience spanning global media, technology, venture capital, and private equity.

Richard was the original Senior Director and Head of International Business Development & Strategy at Facebook, where he played a leadership role during the company’s global expansion. Earlier, he served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President and Head of Equity Ventures for The Walt Disney Company’s Worldwide Television Group, overseeing all finance, sales operations, global strategy, business development, and joint ventures representing several billion dollars in annual revenue.

He has also held executive roles at Viacom Entertainment Group, Paramount Pictures, HBO International, and Warner Bros. International Television.

Richard has served as an executive, investor, board member, founder, and advisor to numerous transformative companies across technology, media, telecommunications, digital distribution, streaming, AI, clean tech, defense, space and emerging platforms.

He holds a AB in Economics from Harvard College, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and an MPhil in Law from Cambridge University. He also completed studies at the London School of Economics and the Advanced Negotiation & Dispute Resolution Program at Harvard Law School and MIT.

Richard is deeply engaged in philanthropy and sustainability initiatives, having participated in White House, World Economic Forum, and United Nations summits focused on technology, sustainability, philanthropy, and job creation.

Josh Elbaum
Managing Director

Josh provides financial, creative and strategic advisory services to global media, entertainment, and asset management enterprises and participates in the firm’s private equity deployment activities.

Over a 25-year international career, Josh has structured transactions, led content distribution initiatives, expanded international markets, and advised media platforms across public and private sectors. He has held senior roles at Turner Broadcasting, CNN, ITC (UK), and Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer/United Artists.

Josh is a juror for the International Emmy Awards and a member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and the Los Angeles Committee on Foreign Relations. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Brown University and is conversant in Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, and Russian.
