MIG Capital Partners (MIG) is an investment advisory, consulting, and management services firm specializing in technology, media, film, television, music, AI, and content companies.
MIG—together with its affiliates, MIG Tech Advisors VIII LLC and MIG Investment Group—focuses on a diverse range of sectors including clean energy, carbon-neutral initiatives, humanoid robotics, AI/LLM, digital media, film, television, gaming and music IP, consumer internet, defense, space, mobility, health, and fintech, among others.
The firm and its principals have acted as General Partners, Managing Members, and Special Limited Partners in multiple investment vehicles, successfully participating in over US $5 billion of capital deployed into numerous public and private companies within their areas of expertise.
MIG’s activities and portfolio include collaborations with leaders in media, entertainment, social networking, gaming, and technology platforms. These partnerships have addressed significant global innovations and challenges while creating long-term sustainable revenue opportunities across leading tech ecosystems.
MIG is also committed to philanthropy, serving as a co-founder and advisor to various global initiatives aimed at enhancing philanthropic efforts on the social internet. Richard Cooperstein
Senior Managing Partner
Richard received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Harvard College, a Master’s Degree in Law from Cambridge University, England and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School. He has also completed the undergraduate pre-law program at the LSE and the executive program on negotiation at Harvard Law School/MIT.

Richard Cooperstein is the Founder and Senior Managing Partner of MIG Capital Partners and Media Investment Group, which provide investment, consulting, and management services across technology, social networking, digital media, streaming, VR/AI, and related platforms, applications, and technologies.
Richard was the original Senior Director and Head of International Business Development & Strategy at Facebook, where he played a key role during the company’s global expansion. Over his career, he has served as an executive, investor, board member, founder, and advisor to numerous transformative companies spanning technology, media, telecommunications, mobile, video distribution, streaming, monetization, advertising, and social content networks.
Prior to Facebook, Richard served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Disney’s Worldwide Television Group, where he managed finance, business development, and equity ventures. He oversaw global strategy, business development, and joint venture operations representing several billion dollars in annual revenue.
Earlier in his career, Richard held operational, advisory, and executive management roles within Viacom Entertainment Group, Paramount Pictures, HBO International, and Warner Bros. International Television.
Richard is also deeply engaged in philanthropy. He served as Chairman of a global charitable initiative advancing philanthropy across the social internet and has participated in White House, World Economic Forum, and United Nations summits on technology, media, sustainability, philanthropy, and job creation. He also serves on the Board of the University of Cumbria’s Institute for Leadership and Sustainability in the United Kingdom.
He has held FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses and remains an active investor and advisor. Outside of work, Richard is an avid sportsman — passionate about tennis, swimming, and running — and enjoys travel and boating.
Josh Elbaum
Managing Director
Josh holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Brown University.
Experience
Josh Elbaum is Managing Director of Media Investment Group, LLC. He provides financial and strategic consulting services to global media, entertainment, and asset management enterprises. Josh also participates in the firm’s deployment of private equity capital into new business opportunities within MIGs areas of expertise. Collectively the firm has participated in film financings, venture capital investments, consulting services, strategic alliances, research services, international sales, valuations and new business development.
For nearly 25 years, Josh has traveled worldwide selling television and film content, expanding markets and serving as a catalyst in the realization of new business opportunities across the media landscape.
With strong relationships throughout the creative, production and distribution sectors of the media industry, as well as extensive connections in government, banking and advertising, Josh’s work includes transactions, due diligence, feasibility analysis, IPTV, broadband and social network media initiatives.
Most recently Josh has been involved in projects in the fields of news, sports, children’s and educational programming in the Middle East, working with public and private network and independent broadcasters, independent production studios and multi-media distributors. For over 15 years, Josh has been a juror for the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ International Emmy Awards.
Josh has served in senior executive positions at Turner Broadcasting, CNN, ITC (U.K.) and Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer/United Artists. He is a member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, the National Association of Program Television Executives, and the Los Angeles Committee on Foreign Relations. Josh is conversant in Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish and Russian.
